Day Sixteen

Grand Prairie, TX to Odessa, TX
332 miles

We left early this morning for Odessa, Texas. This stop is a part of our three day progression to New Mexico and Colorado.

Texas’ landscape changed today. Grand Prairie is filled with trees, hills, and bushes. As compared to Odessa, which is oil country. The land is much flatter, and desert like. Flowering cactuses are along the edge of the roads, and there are fields of wheat, windmills,  and cattle all scattered with oil pumps. We are lucky that our campground for the night has trees.

I have to say that the road system of Dallas and Fort Worth has to be one of the most complicated we have seen so far. There are numerous highways connected in one place, exit lanes on the left and right, numerous immediate exit only lanes, and cameras for speed control. Dad and I are both glad to leave that behind.

Off to southern New Mexico tomorrow!
