A change of plans today. Originally, we were staying
just outside of Chicago for tonight. We both decided driving through Chicago in
rush hour traffic tomorrow morning wouldn’t be the best. Therefore, we drove past
Chicago and are staying on a lake in Indiana. A long day of travel, but it will
be completely worth it.
Here is a photo of one side of the road’s cornfields. Imagine this in every direction. The landscape remains this way for the entire state of Iowa and most of Illinois for as far as you can see.
Today marks our official return to the east. We crossed this
Mississippi River midmorning. It is interesting to see what it looks like from
the north, as we have seen its mouth in the south.
From this point forth we will be traveling most of the roads east that we took west. One more travel day and we will be in Niagara Falls.
