Day Fifty Three

Rapid City, SD to Sioux Falls, SD
358 Miles

It took the day to cross the majority of South Dakota. The landscape throughout the state is unchanged. It is miles and miles of green pasture and cornfields.

There are a few hills, but it is primarily flat. We crossed the Missouri River today as well. Unlike the Mississippi, it does not appear to be used for shipping and transport, but rather for pleasure.

We are lucky to have just missed the flooding and rain here. The front desk said a few days ago, they received 12 inches of rain. The fields did have pockets of water, but I could never imagine that much rain at once.

Tomorrow, we travel through Iowa.
