Day Thirty Four

Grand Canyon Village, AZ to Needles, CA
238 Miles

We finally made it across country! We reached California just before noon, and boy is it hot. The Weather Channel claims the high was 107 degrees, but with the sun beating down it felt much hotter. Mom, Dad, and I have never been in a higher temperature.

Luckily, we are staying at a marina, and there are two beaches here along the Colorado River. To cool off, Mom, the dogs and I went to swim in the river. It was cold, but felt really nice.

Before we left the Grand Canyon, a male elk visited our campsite. He had a full rack antlers too. The drive was all desert today. Tomorrow will be the same. We are off to the Sequoia National Park. It will be a long drive, but we are all excited.
